Mailbox with or without parcel box?

Packstation... well... last time I spent an hour checking 3 Packstations because DHL apparently randomly put my packages wherever there was space... or wherever the driver happened to pass by. You never know...

You always have to rely on the honesty of the parcel couriers anyway. Since usually no signature is required anymore, the courier can also claim that they gave it to the neighbor or put it in the Packstation.
I don't see any difference to a parcel box now. Especially since nowadays everyone has at least 25 cameras installed around their new house anyway.

Usually you don’t really need something like that. Normally you have neighbors or a back entrance or something else where something can be left. The parcel locker works pretty well here. What annoys me is when it ends up in the branch because you have to queue forever there and depend on the opening hours. We leave things at the back entrance. Whether they ring the bell or not doesn’t really matter to me. Not ringing usually goes faster for the delivery person, so I set it that way with DHL, but ringing still happens quite often – in our case probably because otherwise they would have to walk around the house once, and every second really counts for them. I don’t think these boxes are particularly secure and usually only smaller packages fit in. Additionally, they take up space, look ugly, and cost money. For me, that would only be an option if I had nowhere to leave packages and no neighbors and the branch and parcel locker are far away.

Hello everyone,

at our place the entrance area is covered, there is a camera that records movements and the delivery experience for all parcel services is stored at the front door. It doesn't get any more convenient. No need to go to a parcel station separately. I wouldn't need a parcel box either. It probably wouldn't fit often anyway.

We often receive packages and don't want the neighbors to have to accept them every time (eventually they get annoyed by it too).

We have found an interesting parcel box with a letter compartment and a parcel compartment.

The parcel box can accommodate packages with the following dimensions:

Maximum package size DHL - Size M: W: 37.5 x H: 13.5 x D: 30 cm

Is that sufficient, what would you say?

Can you possibly also recommend a direct model that you might have in use?

So I would now claim that 80% of our packages are larger than the specified dimensions.

At the beginning, we also had our side entrance door from the garage open and had the storage permission there. But since there was a break-in in the neighborhood, we lock the garage and have installed an electronic cylinder with a code and chip for it. For the parcel couriers, we set up a separate code and included it with the storage permission. We once briefly instructed our mailwoman on a Saturday. Since then, it has been working. Other parcel couriers sometimes also leave it under the covered terrace or in the cushion box if they have trouble with the lock..

Last year we replaced our mailbox and also briefly considered whether a parcel box might be useful. Looking at our parcels, the post boxes are too small for at least half of the packages. We have also often had situations where you place an order but still receive 3 packages from different shipping centers. That does not all fit in either. Therefore, it was discarded again very quickly.
