that's why I registered here prophylactically...

so that – starting in March, as soon as I can search offline without freezing and with more than 8 hours of daylight – whenever any "quirky" objects turn up, I can discuss creative ideas for their use and habitability with you

inspired, among other things, by an article in the Stuttgarter Zeitung last weekend titled "A house on a parking lot," where a retired couple set up home on 82 sqm living space;
I only have it on paper right now – I can't quickly link it
I quote partly/in keywords:
"Affordable materials, smart architecture... We actually wanted to build a carport on the property... The plot is 9 meters wide and 33 meters long... 'refined shell construction'... many of the materials were mostly left as they look in nature"

so I came up with the idea whether, besides searching for cheap existing properties (with little or a lot of renovation needed), I might also keep an eye out for non-"normally" buildable leftover plots?

furthermore, spontaneous questions could arise if I see somewhere a shed/vacant commercial space/whatever that might be worth considering in case of conversion and how much work that would involve...

There are already clueless chaos makers...

I just came across a €35,000 property

In response to my inquiry about the condition, I got:
"the roof on one side was dismantled by a demolition company ... the left part is dry."

Why would someone have half the roof torn off and THEN offer the shack for sale?

Because the house would be even less marketable with a collapsed roof... So with the location "I wouldn't want to be found dead over the fence there" and the quality of a hut in Mordor

according to Google Maps 16 km from Trier

if I have (dry!) space there to store my stuff/set up a bookshelf/etc., to set up a small workshop, to park the currently unused car (I have a "normal" car and a small camper van), and still have a room usable as a "garden shed" for weekends in the countryside...

... then a 10 sqm shared apartment room would be enough for me as a "city apartment"

(after negotiating down) 25 to 30k€ rundown property in the countryside - with even a 300 sqm garden on the other side of the street - AND a small room for +/- 300 €/month in the big city less than 20 km away would be a combination that would cover my needs...

I just browsed around to see what else is offered in the area ... in the neighboring municipality 5 km away, for example, I find Immo-Scout-ID: 124345192 "detached house in need of renovation with expansion potential on 950 sqm of land ... built in 1937 in solid construction ... currently rented out and generates 420,- € cold rent per month, as only the ground floor is used ... purchase price 274,500 €" this would be, taking into account the official land value in the locality, between 140,000 € and 200,000 € for such a "advertised" house --> somehow a "real" junk property, where I have to hire the local carpenter to replace the missing half of the roof truss, and look for used roof tiles from a demolition house to cover it, seems more attractive to me for 500 € premium on the value of the land (according to the official land value) ...
