& no 1. until last summer it was not "no matter where," but due to a family connection within a circle with a radius of about 200 to 250 km everything west of the Rhine would have been too far away for the approx. 2 visits per month ... whereby moving was not an option anyway due to the job 2. regardless, not "no matter where": as long as I am in Germany, I prefer the "climatically favored" areas – generally recognizable by viticulture --> hence the restriction to the mentioned areas along some river valleys (just please not in the floodplain: I had an old small farmhouse with outbuildings in Neuburg am Rhein = about 20 km from KA taken off my list again after I saw that the entire town was flooded in 1882 AND in the last 20 years half a dozen floods with higher water levels than this "century flood" of the 19th century occurred --> do I really want to rely on the dike??? or rather understand the evaluation plan of the local fire brigade found on the internet as a warning signal?!)

Mentioning Andernach and Neuwied in the same breath in terms of attractiveness almost makes me reach for my heart medication ;-) Help me out here, that doesn’t ring a bell for me right now (?)

I'm not there yet
I just wanted to say that - IF I expand the search area from Plan A Moselle valley along the D-Luxembourg border towards Plan B - I would consider the area along the Rhine from about Rastatt to about 20 km downstream from Koblenz (and there on one side of the Rhine lies Andernach and on the other Neuwied) ...
I will then possibly take a look at the individual towns offline starting in spring ;)

What about a tiny house and placing it at the farm?
