LED recessed lights in all-room kitchen, living and dining area

A hot tip: Have you ever thought about wall outlets? We have them in our current apartment, two on opposite walls each with lights that shine upwards and downwards..... very nice subdued light, but bright enough so that in our living room measuring 5.50m x 4.50m no other light sources are needed.

There is a wall outlet in the wall at the top edge between the dining and living areas. Furthermore, an LED strip can be mounted on this wall at the transition between the wall and ceiling. I find it hard to imagine that indirect light is sufficient when, for example, playing board games in the living room, etc.

I can only report from our experience, and the 4x2 lights are definitely sufficient, sometimes even too bright so that we turn off one side.

how would the recessed light opponents (no offense meant, please don’t misunderstand) create light in the entire space?

.... with a normal simple ceiling lamp, which is then turned on when needed, e.g. when searching or cleaning. Ambient lighting can be a pendant lamp over the living room table. In the dining area, it is sufficient as well. Preferably dimmable, in case it’s too harsh during meals.

Above your kitchen sink you have an under-cabinet light... that is completely sufficient.

In the kitchen, I would plan the 2 above the sink and similarly 2 in front of the tall cabinet wall.

Never so many in the living room... and board games are much better played at the dining table.

Better enough power outlets and think about how you might want to furnish. Table lamps on sideboards etc. are also always cozy light sources. Floor lamps next to the sofa/armchair for reading and similar. Ambient lighting... only if you have a coffee table and a pendant lamp or something there. And then maybe not as proverbial ambient lighting, but rather where the table is supposed to be.
