A few more thoughts on electrical appliances: I swear by my cutlery basket. A nice extra on the refrigerator is the "Auto-Close" function, which pulls the door closed automatically from a certain opening angle. Energy-efficient dishwashers simply do not dry the dishes properly - but it's not that dramatic. I find a steam function for baking bread very pleasant (the crust is really crusty).

then he doesn’t have basic. and then that’s also correct, since the other two variants have a significantly worse "fall-in protection". if something actually falls in with basic, you can simply collect it again, because behind the grid there is a large recess where water and actual "pieces" can collect before they really get into the system. it must be pure intent to seriously annoy the device. the cleaning is super simple because you can remove the grid and the grease protection in a few seconds.

what do I need from them again? if I buy a Miele device, I also need Miele spare parts. the grease filter is simply put in the dishwasher and therefore theoretically lasts "forever" for now. eventually you buy a new one. the lid on top naturally lasts forever or eventually breaks. it is more valuable than it looks at first.
however, it is true that surface induction is really quite expensive. this is also brand new at Bora right now. we would have been among the first, but it was too expensive for us.

again: nothing has EVER flowed in, fallen in, or anything else there for us. we have the basic device.

Hello,

We have been using the Bora Basic for two years. It works great and we also have no food residues in the intake.

We chose the Bora system because for us it was a "no-go" to equip a cooking island with a normal extractor hood. This left only three options:

- Built-in ceiling extractor
- Pop-up extractor hood (e.g. Berbel)
- Downdraft extraction

Since we have a ventilation system, we were also unsure how it would behave with cross currents, etc. Therefore, ceiling solutions were rather critically viewed by us. But not entirely excluded. Since all pop-up extractors were either very expensive (e.g. Berbel) or not particularly attractive, this option was ruled out.

Ultimately, the decision had to be made between ceiling extractor and Bora. Since a good ceiling extractor without casing would have already cost €1200 and then casing and cooktop still needed to be added, the Bora solution was the best option for us.

We can definitely recommend the Bora Basic system!

However, if we had the stove against the wall, we would have chosen a classic extractor hood, as this would have been the cheaper option.

Best regards

Off Topic: What are your experiences regarding the shelf life of homemade bread? I have been considering a bread machine for quite some time. However, I received the information that homemade bread becomes hard very quickly (who knows what they add to store-bought bread?). Since I am almost the only one who eats (dark) bread in our household, I would have to dispose of the bread relatively quickly in this case, as I cannot consume it fast enough.

I would advise against a bread machine. I have always been bothered by the holes in the bread caused by the stirring mechanism. Otherwise, what you write about the shelf life of homemade bread is correct. That’s why I slice it right after baking (as soon as it has cooled down a bit) and then freeze the bread. Then I only take out as much from the freezer as will be consumed in one or two days. And to make sensible use of the energy used, I always bake 3 loaves at once. Freezing, of course, also works with bought bread.

I already do that - if I had to eat a whole loaf alone, I'd probably have to look for new teeth. When buying, it's already half and half, and then one part is frozen.
