One should maybe just question themselves sometimes about how the hood is used. Ours is 2-step. Step 1 is usually sufficient for normal cooking. You can normally have a conversation during that. I mostly start step 2 when I sear something hot or open a pot with boiling water and a gush of steam comes out. At step 2, I don’t understand my wife anymore when she tells me something from the living room. But that’s also a total of 10 m sound path around the corner through an (open) sliding door gap. This usage is usually limited in time (for example, I switch from step 2 to 1 as soon as possible) and is necessary at that moment. Btw. I currently wouldn’t know with how many dB our hood is specified.

Probably. It's still a range hood that comes with noise - at least that's a fact for me. Where you cook, it gets louder. - It's not running all the time...

to introduce a completely new impulse, especially with cooking islands or generally open concepts (except when the stove is placed against a wall):

Bora basic

induction cooktop with extractor hood in one. we have it and I can only say that the extractor (recirculation) works significantly better than the new device from above in the old apartment. on setting 2/3 it directly sucks the steam from the edge of the pan and you don't smell anything anymore, because unlike normal devices the smell doesn't even reach your nose.

attached is also a picture of our kitchen with the mentioned cooktop during the construction phase. the grease filter can be simply removed from above in 5 seconds.

ps: there are 2 other variants from bora. both are significantly! worse for private use.

Edit: induction obviously has the great advantage that the plates do not get as hot as with conventional systems. if something boils over, it doesn't burn in strongly right away. instead, after cooking (when the plates are cool again) you can wipe over it with a simple degreaser and the plate is like "new" again.

Hi payday - why do you think the other Bora variants are less suitable for private use (if you ignore the price)? I am also interested in the system. Thanks!

Acquaintance has Bora and always curses when food falls into it. That is probably not solved very well.

I also looked at some systems from Bora in the furniture store and had them demonstrated. For me, more of a toy. Nice idea, but nothing more. We then decided on a Miele.
