Yes, we also have Bora with exhaust air. Flawless, would choose it again anytime.

Now something a bit more serious, the question has been asked zillions of times and answered or rather not answered with a factor of 7….ok, maybe it wasn’t that serious :D

Try the search function.

If you want concrete opinions, you definitely have to provide more info. Recirculation or exhaust air, what is important to you, is proper cooking done or just heating tea water. Is there a controlled residential ventilation system.

Additionally, there is still the distinction between chimney hoods and ceiling hoods.

We have now also decided on a cooktop with a downdraft extractor for the kitchen planning. The cooktop is in a peninsula. I find ceiling-mounted range hoods, no matter how elegant, not attractive. And since the head chef is almost two meters tall, a downdraft was the best option. That way, he can easily see into all the pots. And the pots can be placed anywhere on the cooktop. I also don't really like those pop-up hoods. We were just over Easter in a holiday home with a Bora downdraft cooktop. That was really great. Even though we will use a different manufacturer, that was definitely the right decision.

Open kitchen or closed? Wood stove yes or no? Size of island? Preferences?

We have the cooktop on a peninsula and do not have a range hood (since the cooktop including downdraft extractor is not available). So far, it works well by tilting the window 10 minutes beforehand and leaving the window tilted for 10 minutes after cooking. We will continue without a range hood for now because we believe that recirculation hardly has any effect anyway (at least we never used it in our apartment and always tilted the window instead). Exhaust air is, of course, a different matter...

it looks good but is too expensive price-wise.

Then the solutions with [Kochfeldabzug] will probably be too expensive as well.
