Thank you to you three four for your answers and recommendations!
Currently, as briefly described above, we also live in a new building, first occupancy 10/2014, just not KFW 55 and without controlled residential ventilation but rather the minimum standard of the Energy Saving Ordinance, and we don’t have major problems with the heat.
At least, if my wife keeps the windows in the bedroom closed during the day, which unfortunately is not always the case.
The children have so far survived without serious difficulties, in summer it just gets really hot on a few days, that’s how it is.
I don’t want roller blinds because I know from my parents’ house the manually operated blinds where either the strap now looks terrible (shredded) or the blinds eventually partially stick or break in some other way. I don’t want any more devices to maintain in/on the house – and especially with the interior and plastered or wallpapered roller shutter boxes it would be a big “fun” / huge effort in case of a defect with the strap/motor/radio receiver/roller blind or elsewhere – and that for 19 or at least 14 windows...
If I now think about the costs for roller blinds and put them together in an inexpensive motorized version, I come to at least €3,000 extra for 19 windows – in reality it will probably be significantly more. I don’t even dare to think about KNX and similar games, I once roughly checked the costs and almost felt sick, very quickly it was in the five-digit range.
I am an IT specialist and currently think that my network sockets (and the cabling converging in the utility room) in the rooms are fully sufficient for me.
The only thing I have thought about is a system that notifies when a window is open (electronic window contact?), but I couldn’t find a reliable price for that either and expect huge sums ;-(
I would like to avoid retrofitting shutters because I am afraid of damaging the ETICS, and would possibly already have the mounts for shutters included in the construction phase.
However, my wife could come around to shutters, they can also be a design element – I fear in red.
I will take a closer look at venetian blinds right away, maybe they are still significantly cheaper...
But back to the actual question: Is sun protection a legal must, meaning can we somehow be held liable if we omit it or even be forced to retrofit it? Or do we even violate the building code or something similar?
