Is summer heat protection in new buildings *mandatory*?

Harnesses are still available.
With the passive house, it is not possible due to the openings.
Shading is important and difficult to retrofit.

Straps are perfect thermal bridges. Energy loss is one issue, cold walls = condensation = basis for mold is another. Apart from that, it's 1970. Sorry. You simply don't do that in new buildings anymore. Not to mention comfort. For existing buildings, electrification of the shutters is at the top of the renovation wish list, and in new buildings, they leave it? Really penny-wise and pound-foolish. This is not a golden tap discussion.

Apparently, belts are no longer used because there is too much air exchange. Bad for the blower door test. Crank = a closed system, no air exchange. So: crank or electric. Maintenance from the outside, because otherwise there would be too large thermal bridges here as well! But then there is no windowsill inside for flowers.
Tip: Roller shutters in aluminum. Plastic becomes brittle, the "slots" can/could crack and they can deform. There are also some threads about this...

Depends on the window sills, we have some. With a 45 cm wall structure, the windows were set back to avoid holes.

Straps might be 70s. For switches that are located directly next to the windows, without networking, without central switch, there is not really a difference in comfort.
Switches next to the door or central control or automatic via KNX that is a gain in comfort

We have a beautiful and modern house. Older users here know it. We have good BD values, but it wasn't enough for 55; however, we only wanted to reach 70. We have straps, and yes, they don't exactly look noble, but we really don't focus on these things now, but rather on our furnishings, the great views into the garden, and otherwise we live instead of just inhabiting. And if a rain shower or something like that, or electronic gimmicks of any kind, are financially not possible, then it is just a normal shower (placeholder for everything others here sell as socially inferior standard) and there are the straps. Thermal insulation, however, is necessary. It's like a necessary heating system.

na na na you are allowed to keep up with the times. First the appearance and secondly if my kids would touch it with their greasy fingers, they would soon look brown. Everyone has to decide for themselves. Put a few euros more into it and you already have a nice solution
