Is it possible to install parquet flooring by gluing it yourself? Or is it better to have a professional do it?

Yesterday, I spontaneously tried out my diamond grinding cup and ground the screed flat on the edge strip. Overall, I couldn't detect any unevenness on our anhydrite flow screed, but especially on the edge area, it was raised (due to something like capillary action?). In the bedroom, my wife has already forgiven me a small mishap behind the bed. In the living-dining area, I can't afford any mistakes.

Good luck going forward!
Good choice with Meister Eiche Rustikal naturally oiled ;)

Exactly the "raised" edge areas of the screed and the transitions etc. were associated with bigger question marks for me..., additionally the temporal delay. Well, hopefully the professionals will do it properly.

What adhesive consumption have you had so far per sqm? I had originally calculated with 1-1.2 kg/sqm and then received the statement that in my case one would have to reckon with 1.5 kg. However, it could be due to the particularly long/wide planks (240x25cm).

What are the experiences regarding the baseboards?
I used to/so far always use the normal polished MDF ones, but the parquet layers advised to paint them wood-coloured if possible. In terms of price there is actually little to no difference.
Personally, I would have installed the baseboards on clips, so that later they can be repositioned easily if needed (e.g. if there is some settling and gaps form), but some wooden baseboards are only meant to be glued or screwed...

Just glue them. You can also easily remove and reposition them later if necessary. Saves you an enormous amount of work.

Thanks for the tip, I had rather assumed that you can’t "just remove" the glued ones so easily anymore.
It’s not a lot of work with the clips either, at least not with wooden walls ;)
