Is it possible to install parquet flooring by gluing it yourself? Or is it better to have a professional do it?

Does it still make a difference whether you use pre-finished parquet (that is, these relatively long pieces, where in the ship floor pattern usually three small sticks are next to each other), or whether you glue down strip parquet, that is, the individual smaller sticks?

Yes, of course. Engineered hardwood flooring is easier.

In other words: If you want strip parquet, is it better not to do it yourself?

I would not lay bars myself. It's too much effort for me and doesn't easily forgive small mistakes. After laying (a level floor is a must!) then sand and oil/seal. If you do it, please also plan more time.

But you won't get that from a professional for €22 per square meter.

No, I wouldn’t do that myself either. And that’s exactly what the parquet seller advised me against. It was about strip parquet.

But if you say that click-lock engineered wood flooring is doable, then it’s something to consider.
