Hello dear Ikea fans,
I am currently planning a new kitchen for us. For us, that means 2 adults and 2 children.
At first glance, it shouldn’t sound too difficult, but with a 5m² kitchen the placement options are limited and then there are some extra wishes.
Since I’m new here and need to get oriented regarding uploading photos, here is first a simple layout plan.
I managed to upload a floor plan after all.
Starting from the 3D planner (floor view):
Wall A: 227cm
Wall B: 223cm
Wall C: 228cm (Wall 79.5cm / Passage 71.5cm / Wall 77cm)
Wall D: 223cm (Wall 43cm / Window 137cm / Wall 43cm) Window height 148cm (from the top edge of the windowsill to the window lintel) I only measured the recess at the window.
Ceiling height: 265cm
Water and stove connection is on Wall B. So in the 3D planner top left at about 63.5cm.
Light switch is on Wall C left after 61cm.
Not to forget various sockets. Since our kitchen is furnished, exact measuring is impossible. But for planning purposes an approximate indication.
On Wall A a surface-mounted socket for the extractor hood.
Wall B top left double socket flush-mounted at working height, as well as bottom left a flush-mounted socket for the fridge.
Wall D each on the narrow wall section a double surface-mounted socket at working height.
Oh, and there is something else: in the corner of A and D there is a thin heating pipe. The heating is no longer present in our kitchen. If you want to be exact, it is a 7 x 9cm dead corner.
So now to the wishes or rather to the things that must be integrated into the new kitchen.
Fridge: Height 186cm, Width 60cm, Color gray/silver
Washing machine: Front loader Height 84.5cm, Width 60cm, Depth (according to manual) 63cm, Color white
Special request on my part ops: washing machine to be built in as discreetly as possible ops:
My husband’s wishes, a tall pantry cabinet like a pharmacist’s cabinet and the working height. Currently we have a height of 95cm in the sink and cooking area and 92cm in the work area.
My wishes, namely to integrate the washing machine discreetly, a cabinet above the fridge for thermoses and “useless” stuff and an integrated trash bin. Currently it stands in front of the cabinet and always has to be moved when you want to take something out.
The whole family’s wish: DISHWASHER
We’ve had a used 45cm one for almost a year now. So it wouldn’t be so bad if it was just a 45cm one again. Oh one more thing about washing up, since I’m still the only one who does the washing up (pots etc.). I’m right-handed. So please no draining rack on the left side. Because of the dishwasher we had to modify the sink and now the draining basin has been downgraded to a “flower shelf”.
I would be happy to receive suggestions.
Best regards Milena
