Yes, there is a sensible concept in connection with concrete, heating, and air conditioning. In this case, the concrete is used as a buffer in winter that stores and releases heat for a long time and as a cooled area in summer. It is called concrete core activation. The concrete core, as the name suggests, is not in the outer wall but installed inside, for example as walls around a stairwell or similar.

Regarding architecture with concrete and glass: Search for Brutalism – personally, I don’t like it at all, and after 20 years at the latest, the buildings look like they are from the ’60s, but there seem to be enough supporters.

Thank you very much for the detailed information. I didn’t know there is insulation in between. At first glance, it looks solid to me. Maybe I asked my question too complicatedly, but basically everything is answered for me now.

As my avatar name already suggests, we originally also had the idea of building with concrete. We had looked into two variants: a) Exterior wall built in three parts: concrete / insulation / concrete b) Monolithic wall construction concrete (where (clay) beads are mixed into the concrete to optimize the U-value) ... as far as I remember, this can be found under Liapor.

In Switzerland, many houses are built according to variant b (and it is a bit colder there). However, the wall thicknesses are then 60-100 cm. If you search for "single-family house near Heilbronn made of Liapor lightweight concrete," you will find (in my opinion) a beautiful example. There are also some data provided.

I am talking about 100€ per year!!! Same insulation values = same consumption.

Practiced in commercial construction for many years. In the private sector, rather rarely.

Even if it’s €100... Even if it’s €200... Even if it’s €300... Every single word is being scrutinized here, right?
