Thank you for your picture and your suggestions. I was also thinking of a formwork with anthracite curbstones, which I could fill with gravel and cover with porcelain stoneware tiles.

I have also been busy with our entrance platform recently... Here is the current status:

I actually have a question about that. Our neighbors also had a platform poured. The setup was as follows: normal soil then 30-40cm of sand about 20cm of concrete with steel mesh. Now the curious part in my opinion. The steel mesh was actually partially drilled INTO the clinker brick. Also, there was no studded membrane or similar between the front door and the concrete. No machine was used, at most a hand tamper was used. Now I wonder if the whole platform won’t settle over time and the platform will then hang on the clinker brick because steel mesh was incorporated there.

Layman's answer: That sounds like it, yes. But there are (presumably) many construction errors that never come to light because they simply have no unpleasant consequences ...

Everything looks pretty good, I would probably do it more or less like this with porcelain tiles now. Set boundary stones all around and fill with gravel, then some grit and place the porcelain tiles on top.

As you can see in the picture, I have finished the edging and the "chipping" in the platform. As soon as our paving stones for the driveway arrive, both the driveway and the platform will be paved... Until then, I have placed wooden boards in the platform.
