Hello everyone,

since I am an absolute layman in the field of IT, I ask for your help.

We are currently building a semi-detached house. Because of the underfloor heating, I have planned a CAT7 connection on all floors.

I am now wondering how I can supply my house with Wi-Fi and telephony later.

The technology comes into the basement (line from the provider).

How can I now (using a FritzBox) distribute telephony and Wi-Fi in the house? I thought about setting up an access point at the respective CAT7 socket on all floors (where necessary). But how does the LAN get there? Is it enough if I connect the FritzBox in the basement to the network sockets that end at the CAT7 sockets (and then set up access points)?

Furthermore, I need to know how I can connect a phone (which will be located in the ground floor) to this FritzBox, which is in the basement. Maybe Wi-Fi telephony?

Sorry for the clumsiness and many thanks for your help!

Only one outlet per floor or one outlet in every room?

Only one socket per floor is already the first mistake. Or do you mean per room?

In the simplest version, you could do it like this:

- Put the Fritzbox from the internet provider in the basement.
- Connect a small PoE switch to this Fritzbox
- Connect the access points to this PoE switch
- Connect a second Fritzbox (can be the smallest model) to this PoE switch or directly to the first Fritzbox at the socket on the ground floor and connect the phone(s) there via DECT

If you ever come across the word "Repeater": forget it immediately, it is not an option.

If you will have cabling, a patch panel will surely be installed, right

Your posts are often quite funny, but right now I'm not sure if this is just a joke or ignorance?
