You see it that way and so do I, but normal builders probably have a different amount planned and might not even notice a big difference.

Exactly right and that's a good thing. Everyone gets what they need (or think they need xD)

Oh man... I am also at home in IT. But I really have never been good with networks. Even when I talk to the networkers in my projects, I am rarely any wiser afterwards. Can I now use the unifi solutions well with magenta tv? Keyword Multicast?!

Yes, then I have a total of 2 VLANs. If I want more, I need another firewall or something similar.

Hmm, stupid that no one told me that anywhere when I asked in dozens of forums for suitable devices...

You should have asked me. Mikrotik devices are really powerful despite their low price. For example, the manufacturer generally specifies the performance for certain scenarios (bridging, routing, VPN, ...), so you can choose the device suitable for the task. However, I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone who just wants it to work simply. A simple example: the default configuration includes a DHCP server but no automatic registration in DNS. Accordingly, there is no name resolution in the local network out of the box, which can sometimes cause confusion. On the other hand, a corresponding mechanism can be retrofitted as a script, which is much more flexible than all Fritz!Boxes in the world.
