Which switch do we need?

I have now installed a ubiquity lite. With it, I have better quality in the reception area than with my router. An adapter for PoE was included in the delivery!

If you also want to rely on Ubiquiti, there the POE injectors are included with individual sets as written with Joedreck.

Managed/Unmanaged depends on what you want to do :)

I'll bump the thread again, I'm currently thinking about how to network everything in the basement:

2x8 port switch + 2x12 port patch panel in a 10 inch cabinet
or
1x16 port switch + 1x24 port patch panel in a 19 inch cabinet

At first, I have 8 cables arriving in the basement, later probably another 3-5 will follow

If the space allows, I would install the 19-inch cabinet right away and use a 16-port switch... you yourself write that 3-5 more will be added and you would have to connect the switches together, creating a bottleneck (even if it's a wide bottleneck with 1Gbit/s...) Who knows what else you want to put in there (e.g. a NAS) and your 10-inch cabinet will quickly reach its limits.

I also think one should go for 19"
