It was quite simple for us. We didn't want red bricks, so the gray ones from the standard. We didn't like that only the window frames were foiled; everything including the roller shutter rails etc. was then already five digits. Also, the realization that the dark window frames get much hotter and take longer to cool down – so white. Front door in white didn't please us, so anthracite. We didn't want a white facade, so gray, not too light – not too dark. Done. Entrance area is green, as a reminder of the previous building. I wanted the roof overhang in white, but we were advised against it because it's a main road and white gets dirty quickly, so very light gray. White-anthracite is quite rare here. White-green, white-wood, and a new building has cappuccino/chocolate brown. At my cousin's settlement only white and anthracite. Attic the same, paving the same, apparently the same garden landscaper already quite dull.

You forgot the welded mesh fence in anthracite. ;)

Yes, and where [Satteldach], [Würfel], [Bungalow] and [Stadtvilla] are mixed, it appears uniformly boring

You are partly right insofar as you took my color shade example too literally. However, there are certainly also fast-moving color paints like red (Sparkasse), light (Aral) or dark (Lidl) blue, for example. The window fitters regularly receive large unwhite orders, whose "leftovers" are enough for several single-family houses. In inquiries, you certainly cannot say "maize yellow" because the likelihood of a match is low and in many cases it would then still be a special color. But you can say you want a color tone from the daily menu instead of white or anthracite. Perhaps the window fitter currently has an order from the Provinzial and offers you dark grass green. Then your house will not be the hundred and seventy-seventh run-of-the-mill anthracite window-framed one in the building area despite white plaster.

That's why I like our (currently white) wooden windows - I don't have to commit for 20 years. :)
