You don't need tropical wood. We have larch wood windows. With good care, they also last 60 years.
Then your house, despite white plaster, is not the seventy-something-thirty-seventh run-of-the-mill anthracite window frame in the development area.
I understand what you mean, but at least with our window guy – a somewhat larger company with several hundred employees – the standard colors are fixed. So you have the choice of four or six variants, and everything else costs more, even if he still happens to have leftovers from the Commerzbank in maize yellow. ;)
That's why I like our (currently white) wooden windows - I don't have to commit for 20 years. :)
... and I like our wooden front door. It still shines in the original anthracite... but I'm already looking forward to painting it differently someday :)
