House exterior color design / color coordination - experiences?

Good evening everyone,

we are currently working on the design of the "exterior view" of the house and need advice from experienced homeowners :)

How did you do it regarding the color scheme for the outside? Like roof tile color to window color to front door color to garage door etc.?

There is always the option to choose RAL colors... Has anyone done it that way - or how did you design it?

(PS: Our house will be white and the tiles/windows/front door etc. in dark gray/light black tones....)

What can you say? You just have to get samples and then diligently coordinate them with each other. We went three times with our brick samples to the window maker and front door/garage door seller (and countless times to various tilers/dealers). Well, we don’t have roof tiles, but instead color-contrasted parts of the facade. It’s all possible, but it takes time and requires effort.

Walk through settlements and take photos of houses you like, maybe after 100 houses there won’t be any black/anthracite/white houses in your pictures because 95% have them. Looking helps develop taste.

So the first approach already sounds very mainstream. :rolleyes:

So we started with the windows and selected the color tone there, and then chose the matching door, parapet, downpipes, garage door, fence, etc.

In the end, we chose signal black because we were tired of seeing anthracite.

But keep in mind that a consistent implementation of the color tone overall costs significantly extra if this color tone deviates from the mainstream (especially white/anthracite).

I would not paint the facade white for that very reason... a slight gray tint can also work... dark roof, medium gray windows, much lighter facade... :cool:
