I have to correct myself: a carport/garage should also still have space...

I almost thought so - but well, it wouldn't be so bad, because we basically like my parents' house. If it is designed a bit more modern, that is enough for us.

Didn’t you write that your parents' house is 10 meters wide? If you want a parking space/carport, then you’d have to subtract that width from the building envelope, leaving 6.5 meters. Also consider that without a basement, you’ll need replacement rooms for technology, storage, and utility/laundry room... The attic would hardly be available either... I actually thought of more possibilities at first...

I have to ask stupidly again sorry (wife, you know)...

Since we’re now quite sure that the house fundamentally has to be built like my parents’ – how do I handle the planning now – I feel like I’ve spent half the day leafing through some house catalogs. Nice houses, but none like my parents’, so everywhere I’d have to change something somehow. Do I now go to company XY and say – hey, my parents’ house is like this. I need exactly the same (except inside, since that’s flexible). What does it cost me if you build something like that, etc.? Or do I first have to go to an architect or someone else who puts all that on paper with the exact dimensions, etc. (and they don’t do that for free and need to be paid) and then go to company XY with that so they can roughly calculate if it even fits our budget?

exactly, the house is about 10 m wide. If we are forced to plan a parking space or similar within this building envelope, it really looks slim. Then the living area becomes considerably smaller, without a basement, etc., I think this will be a very tight situation. And a basement is certainly not included in the budget...

hm, none of this is what I wanted to hear

For a carport yes, an uncovered parking space is also allowed outside the building envelope. Well, we are not so sure yet, as the additional stipulations are not known. Maybe you are lucky and there are no further design stipulations. What is certain is the roof pitch and the number of floors, unless exemptions from the development plan are granted.
