Whether I am truly thrifty, I do not know. For the sample selection, I have budgeted 70,000 euros and hope to manage with that. I can live well with surface-mounted thermostats, but I do not want to give up exclusively floor-to-ceiling windows/doors (ok, one exception for the sake of my husband ) with shutters.

Which trades and scopes should be roughly included in that? Really just pure interior fittings: bathrooms and stuff, or also basics like entrance door, electric shutters/venetian blinds, roof tiles, etc.?

70K€ sounds like a lot at first, but the surcharge lists are unfortunately looooong.

Yes, you become greedy

It depends on what the base price refers to. Is it a shell house? Should the 70,000 also cover extra technology (KfW) and builder-supplied flooring? Or is it "only" for visible interior fittings?
Everything is relative.
Our catalog house was at 150,000. With an open space and (a bit) more technology as well as anthracite-colored windows, we quickly reached 185,000. With the flooring, electrical installations, paint on the walls, drywall extras, and additional costs for sanitary facilities as well as electrical gadgets, we are probably also at these 70,000 (I don’t remember exactly). If we had now also changed these awful white sockets with those surface-mounted thermostats, we would probably already be at 75,000.

No, the house is turnkey, insofar as it has white textured wallpaper inside and also the flooring is included... both of which we will probably upgrade.
In which year were there still catalog houses for 150,000? Now in 2019 I haven't seen any.

then is it Danwood? Which house is it? with Danwood keep in mind (I don’t know: it sounds like you don’t have an offer yet) that for example transport costs can amount to several thousand euros. Also, a change in the floor plan comes with an architect’s flat fee (back when we inquired in 2013 it was 3 or 5000). You are only looking at prefabricated construction anyway.
