Not really with the large hallway. How about the attic? In my opinion, mother-in-law needs more privacy after 3 months. She should also be able to sneak into the bathroom in her underwear without the whole family or even your friends seeing her.

Hello Hanghaus, great what you are making out of the existing floor plan.
For your information, the laundry room with washing machine and dryer is in the utility room, so it does not have to be considered separately.

Thank you very much for your input.

I like a combination of this variant (bedroom with dressing room) and the first variant with the somewhat wider island and especially the window by the cooking area. I think if you rotate the bedroom with dressing room and the guest room, the kitchen fits by the window, the entrance area is just a bit tight then.

Unfortunately, the budget is certainly not enough to also expand the attic including insulation, roof windows, etc.

Hello Haydee, budget is of course generally also a topic, it is not exactly a small house, but according to the cost estimate from the architect the ground floor and upper floor, as it was planned so far, are covered. I think if the external dimensions remain the same anyway and we shift rooms/stairs a bit, that shouldn't cause huge cost jumps. But basically not much more than "standard" will be in the budget. I really like the ideas from hanghaus though, it also gives a bit of privacy and from the guest room you can also get to the bathroom relatively easily without everyone seeing everything right away.
