Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Windows, stairs, heating room, and WC cannot be changed. Only the wall in the kitchen can be altered and possibly the door hinges (but only outward or inward as shown in the floor plans). The storage room is fixed for us. In the niche by the stairs, a narrow wall cabinet/shelf could possibly be installed (it will be checked if possible). It should be used more for decorative purposes (lighting, decoration, books...). The hallway is not comfortable but sufficient. We currently have a slightly smaller hallway in our rental apartment and manage with it, so the hallway in the house represents an improvement for us.

A niche would constrict the kitchen too much for us. We want comfort there.

Do you have or plan to have children? The hallway without a wardrobe is a disaster scenario when you have children. Your suggestion doesn't improve anything and the kitchen just looks cramped, overbuilt, and cluttered.

It should be clear to everyone that with this floor plan we will only find compromise solutions. I had hoped to receive constructive feedback and new ideas to optimize the floor plan. Some ideas came up. Thanks for that. Not all of them are feasible or acceptable for me. That should be something one can accept. Dwelling on how bad the floor plan or any ideas are does not help me.

Yes, we have children and our current hallway is not a "disaster" (but also definitely no luxury).

My idea improves a lot.
1. Hallway closed = no cold air flowing into the living area.
2. Separate heating circuit in the hallway that does not have to be used = lower heating costs.
3. Slanted wall in the hallway = creates enough space between the open door and the staircase descent + direct view into the room when entering.
4. Extended wall in the living room. Creates a cozy living room corner and space for the TV etc.
5. With straight walls the kitchen seems sufficiently wide to me. Possibly the fridge could still be placed next to the oven cabinet. But that would come at the expense of ergonomics and possibly energy consumption (heat from the oven vs. fridge???). If anyone has constructive improvement suggestions here, please share them.

1st and 2nd. You overestimate the effect. (We have a similar floor plan, the door from the hallway to the open-plan living area is almost always open in our case, only closed when cooking).

5. I don’t like the kitchen at all. You stand at the sink more often than at the stove. And then in the last corner, with your back to the family. But please, if the neighbors are more interesting than your own children, go ahead. And at the stove, the tall cabinet to your right screens you off again.

No, no, I would place the sink and stove in a 300 cm line on the left and 300 cm of tall cabinets on the right, 100 or 120 cm of which with a work niche and roller shutter or lift door. Then you won’t have any trouble with corner cabinets. Refrigerator next to the oven is practically no problem.

In your proposal, you don’t use the kitchen length at all; 300 cm should therefore actually be enough. Instead, you can enlarge the dining area or create a niche for the hallway—you need the space there more than in the kitchen.

Oh yes, in the narrow hallway I would also design the doors to the utility room and the WC as sliding doors.

What cool air? You have the misconception here of taking old houses with not completely sealed doors/windows etc. as a basis. Today’s houses are sealed, there is no wind left to catch.
Also, why a separate heating circuit? The house is an overall concept in terms of heating load calculation, heating individual rooms/areas up and down is not purposeful.
Free yourself from that mindset.

Yes. I find the solution not functional.

I see it differently. It, the hallway, is pure luxury, but I rather see disadvantages in this tube.
I see no possibility at all to store jackets or shoes. At least not for the whole family. And arriving is also something different for me.

Personally, I consider a closet, due to the dimensions a built-in closet, as necessary – rather than a closed, very confining hallway.
Personally, I would let the kitchen partition wall end at the WC so that some airiness comes into the whole thing.
I also find it unpleasant that the little window area is additionally blocked by a piece of furniture or that an extended wall blocks the light from there toward the center of the house.
My opinion tends towards turning the sofa and placing the TV on the outer wall. You can twist and turn it as you like: the standard furnishing, as is mostly seen, has proven itself – especially with the distance of about 5.50.
