My idea improves several things.
1. Hall closed = No cool air flowing into the living area.
2. Separate heating circuit in the hall that does not have to be used = lower heating costs
3. Slanted wall in the hall = creates enough space between the open door and the stair descent + direct view into the room when entering.
4. Extended wall in the living room. Creates a cozy living room corner and space for TV etc..
5. With straight walls, the kitchen seems sufficiently wide to me. Possibly the refrigerator could still be placed next to the oven cabinet. But that would come at the expense of ergonomics and possibly energy consumption (heat from the oven vs refrigerator???). If anyone has any constructive suggestions for improvement here, please share.
Point 2 will not occur. What the heating circuit in the hall does not heat will be handled by the other heating circuits with increased flow. The heating will even become less efficient. That temperatures (energy) equalize in different rooms can be read in the old physicists' works ;) under the "principles of thermodynamics"
