Put the garage next to the neighbor to the east at the property boundary and that's that.
I would definitely not do it in the west. Do you want to push your residential house as close as possible to the neighbor?
You’re lucky to only have a neighbor on the east side, take advantage of that and place the house as far from the boundary to him as possible.
For the reasons mentioned, I would do the same. The other options are not real alternatives for me.
My two main points:
The garden becomes larger and is not visually narrowed by a garage rear wall in the west.
Most important point: You have more space in the garden and no large (and useless front yard/courtyard) like with the other variants.
