Garage construction made of concrete! 3 walls or house extension? What do you think?

But you’re not serious, are you? I would argue that with a decent hammer you won’t even break through the first layer of a Fermacell board in the double plasterboard from the inside. And from the outside it would probably be quite difficult as well, but that certainly depends on the wall construction of the respective manufacturer.

And whether 20cm thick wooden beams spaced 60cm apart give way faster to a car than glued bricks, I wouldn’t want to judge. But today’s "solid" construction method with lots of Styrofoam and little mass personally doesn’t have much to do with the old knight’s castle that seems to have settled in some people’s minds.

By the way: even glass can be unexpectedly resilient. Ever seen glaziers try to break a WK2 pane for the glass container? You can put it on two sawhorses and jump on it as an adult man, and nothing will happen.

Are we talking about the long side of the garage? How are you supposed to drive the car against it? That's totally unrealistic ... You will probably scrape the wall at some point (if you squeeze between the car and the wall holding a beer crate and don't want to damage the car). But no one sees that ;-).

By the way, I don't like to believe that you can't place a prefabricated garage under the roof overhang. But we don't have a site plan, no drawing, maybe it's true after all.

If the space doesn't matter (the ~12 cm), then I would build four walls. Either prefabricated or brick or lightweight concrete or timber frame ...

Hello

I confess that I haven't really looked at a prefab house for 30 years. At that time, they were timber frame structures with fragile walls. Insulation top, stability not given.
How it looks today? I still think it is rather fragile.
I focused on safety with my house. Complete house WK2 (including roof). 24 cm sand-lime brick with clinker in front. Windows WK2 with alarm system. The basement is somewhat more stable. Including panic room. You could diagnose me with a bit of paranoia.

But that’s how it is; in hindsight most crane operators and installers decline. The risk is simply too great that you somehow touch the roof above. After all, the garage is secured at all 4 points with chains/ropes or straps.

That’s why it is common to first set up the garage; and afterwards build or set up the house.

Single garages are usually unloaded lengthwise from the truck, that is, without a crane. But even then, free height is needed, that's true.

Bieber0815 already said it.
Just google "placing prefabricated garage", there are some pictures of how prefabricated garages are unloaded and set up by (special) trucks. It only needs a few centimeters at the top, maybe it works like that?
