I can only report from our neighbor: Foils didn't help at all. They were supposedly quite high-quality. He had them on the garage window because someone had tried to get in there several times already. The dog always disturbed it. Well, then they were on vacation and suddenly the garage was emptied. Damage amounting to €30,000 (a lot of tools, bicycles, etc.).

By the way, the light sensors can be set so that they only trigger on things larger than, I believe, a meter.

There was already a topic like this. That might also be helpful:

How is the upgrade to WK3 supposed to work?

WK2 already has safety glass (even laminated), WK3 has an even higher glass safety class.

Basic -> 2 locking bolts, standard handle, or with push button
RC1 (WK1) -> 4 locking bolts, lockable handle, laminated safety glass
RC2 (WK2) -> all-round fittings as needed, lockable handle, safety glass according to specification
RC3 (WK3) -> all-round fittings, lockable handle, safety glass according to higher specification

If no safety glass is installed, you can at most have RC2N.

RC1N and RC2N mean safety fittings from the corresponding class, but with different glazing.
From RC3, this exception does not exist.

The police and the LKA don’t tell you anything you don’t already know, I can say that for sure, I just had a longer conversation with my contact person from the association.

They only say as much as possible, additional locks, lighting, etc.

Exactly these 30 seconds can be crucial... either to force the thief to give up, or a neighbor comes around the corner.

One thing alone won’t stop anyone... not even a few mushroom-head locks... But the combination of many small things... at least that’s what I think...

I wrote in the opening post WK1 windows versus WK3... the WK3 held up, and then the burglars smashed the glass and used the handle... if it had a lock, they would have had to smash the entire glass, or probably flee.

And what do you do with these closed windows in case of fire? For example, if a fire breaks out in the entrance area/utility room and the keys are stored there?

On the topic: In addition to mushroom heads according to RC2N, we also want to have laminated safety glass [VSG-Glas] installed on the ground floor. Even if broken, it will still be closed. Of course, there is no 100% security, but I haven’t read anything here about large burglary series either.
