I do not believe that windows are allowed to be installed on the plan upper exterior wall according to the fire protection regulations or distance rules. Can the flat roof be equipped with skylights?

Hello Yvonne,

where exactly do you mean? The windows in the children's rooms? Please name a room that you think would be affected.
We actually wanted to replace the flat roof with a shed roof..

P.S. The house is a corner lot. The area in front of the children's rooms is undeveloped and will never be developed.

How wide is the wall/passage where you have now planned the dressing room? And how long is the wall of the central section where you would have window options? A pantry is only a pantry if you also have space for shelves there. What you have drawn in now offers only entrance space and a shelf at the end, so completely wasted space. On the walls to the left and right almost nothing can be placed because you can no longer walk through the room due to lack of space. The same applies to the utility room. If I were you, I would consider why you need a large window front to the terrace in the living room. How old are the children? Regards

How wide is the wall/passage where you have now planned the dressing room?
>>> The free-standing wall is more or less 2.50m, but variable. Or do you mean the wall to the bathroom? That would be 4.51m
And how long is the wall of the central section where you could have window possibilities?
>>> It should be about 3m. Unfortunately it is not on the plan :-/
A pantry is only a pantry if you also have space for shelves there. What you have drawn in now offers only entrance space and one shelf at the end, so completely wasted space. On the walls left and right hardly anything can be placed, because then you can no longer walk through the room due to lack of space. The same applies to the utility room.
>>> Ok, that’s true, it is very tight, we will reconsider. Thank you.
If I were you, I would consider why you need a large window front to the terrace in the living room.
>>> That is actually the only source of light in the living room.
How old are the children?
>>> 5 years and 8 months

I moved things around a bit ;)

- darker gray = close existing openings
- blue = windows/terrace doors in existing openings
- green = new windows / terrace doors
- walls in orange only at about 110 cm height .. as a back wall for the kitchen bench
- parents' bed with external dimensions 190 cm wide and 210 cm long
- children's beds with external dimensions 110 cm wide and 210 cm long

The idea is to have the workspace separated from the private rooms right at the entrance, since there is also public traffic.

Parents' bedroom together with all possible storage around the room's center. Only one new window added.

Technical room accessible through the guest WC (only a narrow 60 cm wide washbasin).

Washing machine/dryer in the hallway, likewise storage space for supplies.

In the front area, storage for coats, shoes, bags, and whatever 4 to 5 people might have (Christmas decorations, etc.)

In the "children's wing" a corner for the vacuum cleaner and similar items.

Living is not the carousel of the apartment ;)

My basic idea would be roughly the same as Kerstin's. What would bother me a bit, however, is the path from the master bedroom to the bathroom. Here, my idea would be (if a dressing area is not absolutely necessary) to integrate a small en suite bathroom. Children's room 3 could initially be used as a guest room and at the same time the bathroom could be used by guests, without getting in each other's way. The toilet in the front area could then also serve as a customer toilet. It would be worth considering whether a shower is then necessary. Just as another idea:
