Well, our house is definitely not a museum. Despite daily vacuuming in the hallway, kitchen, and living room. The rest of the house is not vacuumed daily either. But when we have unannounced visitors, which by the way happens almost every day, I do want to have a clean house and not everything covered in crumbs, sand, cat hair, and dust. And especially the latter is still extreme here because of the construction site all around. And you should see under the table in the kitchen after eating at our place. Sometimes I wonder whether we eat at the table or under the table. And whether I then get the broom or the vacuum cleaner out makes no difference to me.

The bad thing is, after two days it looks the same under the table, despite vacuuming.

So... now we’ve probably drifted off a bit ... but I just wanted to quickly hear your opinion on the "airlock door."

In the first version, it was supposed to serve the purpose of quickly getting into the garden without having to go through the main entrance or living area, and we placed it in the utility/pantry room. But we’re not really convinced by it yet, especially since it wouldn’t be practical for groceries either, because you would have to walk all the way around the house.

We made a small change to the ground floor again and then put the airlock over the technical room. At least this makes sense for groceries if the garage is connected to the house there. However, I’m still missing a real coatroom area in this version.

Just tell me which version seems more reasonable to you and where you would place a possible airlock door in Var1.

See #9.

Why do you need an airlock door? I have never had one in my entire life, let alone missed it.

Also again Off-Topic - I even vacuum the kitchen 3 times a day. This has nothing to do with museums, boredom, or a cleaning obsession, but I have two small children and after every meal, crumbs, grains of rice, etc. fly all over the kitchen. Plus sand from the sandbox, since the kitchen has a door to the garden. And I like to walk barefoot, so the crumbs bother me terribly! That’s why the vacuum cleaner is right in the kitchen; using a hand broom or handheld vacuum would be way too inconvenient for me. But it only takes 2 minutes, so it’s worth it to me. But this is only a phase, and I hope that eventually I get back to a normal level.

In the past (that is, without children) I only vacuumed once a week.

On the topic of the lockable door: Where will the washing machine be located? Where will the garage/carport/parking space go? Do you dry clothes outside?

We have a second door in the utility room next to the kitchen. On that side, however, we also have (eventually) the carport, that's where the washing machine is, and on the terrace in front of the utility room, we also dry the clothes on the drying rack.

If the pantry is only supposed to be a pantry, then I would skip a door here. But if the washing machine is also there, then I would install a door. Basically, I find it sensible with children if they don’t always have to walk through the entire living room from the garden to wash their hands. I don’t find having two entrances on the street side necessary.
