Peninsula or island fits with the open kitchen, otherwise you need a ballroom, which your house does not allow. Consider an eat-in kitchen and the separation between dining and living.
There are modern high-performance exhaust hoods and controlled residential ventilation against odors. Nothing smells in our house despite a relatively open floor plan. Especially since food smells good unless you mess it up.
Even with me, chaos is limited and I am a chaos queen.
Never delete pictures. There is the possibility to block the view of the countertop. For example, in a show house, the kitchen was a two-row kitchen and partially open to the dining room. A 60 or 65 cm deep wall stump was built on the left and right. This way, the work areas disappeared from view.
