I wrote about accessibility. Many manage quite well with assistive devices, and some do use them. Even discount stores occasionally offer rollators. It’s better to be pushed into the shower in a sanitary wheelchair than to sit on a stool in the shower with a cane and shaky legs on a slippery surface.

To what extent this is planned in house construction can only be decided by the builder themselves. I just wanted to point out accessibility when considering using the basement in old age.

I don’t know if our circle of acquaintances and friends is just unlucky. In any case, it teaches that health is the most important thing.

I agree with the second part. The simpler the building structure, the clearer the conception should be, but here I don’t see any thought behind it. Positive points are the mostly functional room layouts, except for the cramped dressing room. The staircase is also well positioned. The garage does not make it clear why it is very wide for one car but too narrow for two cars.

Going from the kitchen into the living room, especially as a turn-off at the end of the corridor, would not occur to me. It almost looks as if the door was previously elsewhere, and then the TV wanted the space.

As a minor point, it naturally strikes me that the openings are in standard dimensions, while the wall lengths and room dimensions are mostly fanciful measurements.

I would definitely reduce the ceiling height in the WC, otherwise it creates a feeling of tightness. The window areas seem meager, and of course, having so many floor-to-ceiling windows also creates “boredom.” At 101 cm, they are also inconsistent in the sense of being too wide for “slits.” But at least there is no chaotic mix of horizontal and vertical formats.

Only a 3m wardrobe with sliding doors is to be placed in the dressing room. I don't like having the wardrobe open in the bedroom. Only the bed should go in there, and that's it. I like it clear and minimalist.

And in the garage we need space for bicycles, lawnmower, and whatever else comes up. I don't like a garden shed. But thanks for the many good tips. It would be important to me where you would place more glass surfaces. Possibly glazing the entire ground floor facing the garden?

Yes, but such a storage room for the wardrobe, in front of which you then move sideways like a robot in a high-bay warehouse? – and where do you then go to see how the chosen outfit looks on you?

I always first place windows where they fit. Comparing with elevation drawings and/or other floor plans then shows which ones should be adjusted a bit.

Lighting and view are impulses for selecting window positions and sizes. The absolute sizes should be in a healthy ratio to the room area. In the living room, it is unfavorable if less than 1:4.

By the way, I carry out such clarifications in the design stage, sometimes already in the preliminary design stage and to scale. Or in sketches, not only in dimensioned drawings in the execution scale.
