I would also find a nice study much more practical. One wall can then be fully equipped with cabinets that go up to the ceiling. You can store a lot in there.

We have a 12.5 sqm utility room and it is really big enough. I wouldn’t have wanted it any bigger – not at the expense of the living-dining room, which appears vanishingly small in your case.

By the way, we also have a cross wall protruding 1.40 m into the utility room. This way we have more space for shelves. Otherwise, we would have a lot of space in the middle of the room that cannot be used.

Just read this thread now and have lost faith... a completely unsuccessful "floor plan" and posts that rely on trivialities rather than the essentials... until I read #20. Thanks, construction expert! That’s when the thread took a turn.

When I read something like: "I never even thought about shortening the hallway," or this back and forth about office supplies (who makes such a fuss with their professional documents from top to bottom or vice versa?.. and the centerpiece of life), a sofa in the traffic zone that keeps the pantry seemingly 10 meters away from the kitchen, an insanely large utility room (as big as the living room) and the lack of understanding of the importance of exterior views should lead to realizing that one is somewhat overwhelmed by house planning.
Six pages are filled here, yet they lead to no improvement suggestions other than choosing a nice standard suburban villa or going to an architect.

Trivialities are indeed recognized here and there will be suggestions for improvement.

Thanks in advance for all the criticism and suggestions. We had already realized that the layout, especially on the ground floor, is not quite suitable, which is why I asked for suggestions here. But now we can already take a few points to the architect, such as perhaps using the attic as a work and storage area.

Hi, I also definitely want to give you the advice to browse through the standard floor plans. On the internet, you can find so many beautiful floor plans from, for example, prefab house manufacturers. This way you get a feel for room layout and size proportions. I think a similar standard floor plan like this one could be interesting for you:

When you’re back from the architect, just post the draft. Then we can still nitpick a bit.

About the attic: if it is not developed, i.e. you can see the underside of the roof tiles directly, you can largely forget about using it as storage space. In high summer temperatures > 60° C, in winter as cold & damp as outside. Paper, furniture, and boxes are ruined after a few years. Metal oxidizes faster. Fabrics deteriorate.

@klblb I had already thought something like that, that's why it would only be interesting as an expanded attic as Bauexperte suggested.
