Hello,
the washing machine and dryer are located right next to a children's room with a thin wall. I can imagine that it will get loud in the children's room.
Best regards
Sabine
Thanks for the tip. The washing machine usually runs on a timer for us, I think we can manage that. Should we still make sure to keep a wall that possibly offers better sound insulation? Is something like that possible and sensible?
Sounds good. Maybe you can post the new floor plan again once you have received it from the planner.
I will gladly do that. However, it might take a little while, since the next version will no longer be a hand drawing but will now be digitized.
Hello,
If you raise the knee wall by 20 cm and shift the staircase installation by the same number of centimeters, the children's rooms will actually become smaller. Children play on floor area and not living space; the slightly enlarged dormer does not really change that. In terms of living space, it will probably come out (almost) the same again ;)
You are of course right. Whether it will be 10 or 20 cm that we move the wall will be decided finally after we have spoken to the stair builder (probably within this week, luckily he is practically on site), and know exactly what measurements are needed for the stairs.
A slightly higher knee wall does not really change the bathroom situation either, since in front of the bathtub and shower there still needs to be a knee wall built on the eaves side, so the layout is not changed. Don't forget that the lighting in the bathroom needs to be corrected. The slightly higher knee wall benefits your bedroom; the bed entry situation is quite boldly planned anyway.
Rhenish regards
The bathroom will at least feel a bit airier, but of course you're right, it doesn't really change anything. For the bedroom it is good, yep. For the children's rooms I can live with the 0.2m less space. Of course that corresponds to about one square meter less floor area per room overall, but the size still feels right to us.
