No, I think you start planning and build in corners here and there... over time the corners "straighten out" and become continuous walls

Personally, I don't like slanted walls - yet here with you the problem of budget and living space must be respected, so the ultimate living space is squeezed out - therefore I cannot tend more toward one or the other variant here, but I can give hints
However, I must say that the L-shaped rooms on the upper floor in V2 would not bother me, as I also see the advantages (already mentioned here -> built-in wardrobes, coziness, niches for children)

Sink in the guest bathroom under the window? Where should the mirror go then?

I hope the structural analysis works and doesn't mix up your rooms again,...

Haha, good point! The toilet and sink should probably just swap places quickly if we stick with that option!

Ok, I have no idea about that, but I thought the walls on the upper floor don’t necessarily have to follow those downstairs? Well, hopefully the architect can tell us something about that... or does a specific aspect seem questionable to you here?

I agree. Personally, I can live well with the stair corners on the upper floor. They bother me a bit more on the ground floor. But if the gable option doesn’t work, I think we can manage with the central staircase.

Hello,

attached is a brief and for now final updated info. We have now decided on a slightly revised version of the gable stairs variant, probably still with a small dining bay; the floor plan refinement is underway and we are negotiating the details of the offers accompanied by external consultation with various construction companies.

For the hopefully next steps on this exciting journey, I will post again at hopefully the right place.

To everyone who has put effort into this with often detailed and repeated advice, I would like to express my sincere thanks once again. Your ideas and suggestions have helped us a lot to find out what is important to us and what will (hopefully!) work for us. I think the support in this forum is great

Best regards,

Kazazi
