For a bungalow, a very bad layout! This is not a bungalow layout, as the "secondary staircase" is given way too much importance. Even the improvement is no improvement. I think there are many layman thoughts attached to the twisted arrangement of the rooms, which are to blame for everything somehow not being as intended.
In my opinion, the plot is also not bungalow-friendly.
But okay, if that is the wish, then I would at least ensure that living and recreation areas face south or west. More openness (for two people… over 65… you usually don’t need corridors), questioning a double garage on a narrow plot if no one urgently needs to leave the parking space in the morning.
The idea of a door from the utility room/garage doesn’t make sense because the gate is directly at the front door. A bedroom directly opposite the front door causes discomfort, a kitchen with 15 sqm and very few running meters of countertop is less than some 10 sqm kitchens.
There is still a lot of potential on the plot for a single-story house… but not for this one. I consider this design inferior and not a basis.
Thank you for your frank words. Basically, we also don’t like the layout. However, the living/dining room doesn’t have to face south/west. My parents also don’t necessarily want large windows. The double garage is mandatory, though. We know the plot isn’t optimal, but unfortunately there was no better one. Do you have any idea in mind how one could completely redesign the floor plan better?
My parents are also not satisfied with the floor plan. I don’t want to impose anything on them but rather help them with the house. Hence the question here about help or ideas.
