Call the municipality. They should have plans for the development of the building area, and if they impose regulations on you through the development plan that depend on it, they should take care of informing you about the reference point.

Why is everyone talking about an island?
I don't read anything about a wish for an island in the initial post.

I am an electrical engineer, not a designer, and am only sharing my personal perception here ;)

But I think as long as only the passageway becomes wider and the dining/cooking area remains a 3m wide "corridor," a cooking island won't "tell" what you expect from it.

But it doesn't have to be a cooking island necessarily. Also keep in mind that a U-shape solution with all cabinets along the walls is significantly more affordable than kitchen cabinets standing freely in the room or an island.

I wouldn’t describe that as desperate. OP asks – OP gets answers, nothing more. I rather get the feeling here that the connection between the floor plan and possible furnishing is not yet entirely clear. Whoever wants old-fashioned gets old-fashioned. That doesn’t have to be bad, you just shouldn’t be surprised later if none of the island solutions displayed in the kitchen studio are suitable for this house.

I definitely find Katja's draft better; the sense of space is much more open, you come directly from the kitchen out onto the terrace AND also into the storage room, where it is planned to store less frequently used items and I think the drink crates will also end up there.

However, I would probably choose a large patio door in the living room instead of the window seat. Whether a sliding lift door or a double-wing patio door doesn’t matter.

I just think it’s nice to come directly from the living area onto the terrace.

It seems to me that the furnishing of the bathroom is done according to the motto: "that does not belong to the delivery scope of the shell builder, so we will clarify that calmly once the shell is standing." There seems to be a lack of awareness that a downpipe cannot be "laid" as easypeasy as an electric cable. If you only "layout" the objects "when it really matters" and draw the consequence that you want to get up from the bathtub without banging your head, this can result in having to relegate the shower or the second washbasin to the category of sacrificial lambs. This will be somewhat different in the kitchen planning (although I do not particularly mourn an island). Here an object will be sacrificed less frequently – but with a pretty high probability a late planning will backfire on the arrangement, i.e. in practice on the mileage allowance of those working in the kitchen. Even when washing up by hand: planning makes the difference between the paths of the washer and the drier crossing seven times or forty-eight times. More or less the same for the muesli breakfast eater and the fried egg breakfast eater etc. Especially when the house is realized as an untested floor plan design, the "inner planning" needs correspondingly more attention.

Where is the best place to call? The building authority or another department? We are actually getting frustrated with the surveyor – he is currently holding everything up :( He just has to send an email – he still has all the data.
