Where is the best place to call? The building authority or another department?
We are really getting desperate with the surveyor - he is currently holding everything up :(
He just has to send an email – he still has all the data.

That was heading somewhat in the direction of an island because one criticism was the kitchen, and at that moment I was mentally picturing the captain's gable on the kitchen – something like that would have been possible there. But basically, I don't need or want an island; I'd rather stick with the U-shape to avoid wasting space – even if it's an 80s style. The super modern 2022 kitchen from the catalog is also less what we envision – and stylistically it doesn't fit in a wooden house, in my opinion. Our last three kitchens were from Ikea with country-style fronts in white and Bosch/Neff appliances. That's probably what it will come down to again – maybe this time with a different color for the fronts, we'll see ;)

We would like to stick to "no cooking island" – please excuse the confusion, that was just a brief mental detour on my part. :)

And I am grateful for every contribution – even if I sometimes disagree or find a suggestion dumb. So much input and thoughts that help us look at our project from another perspective and are absolutely priceless to us. Some hints will definitely be incorporated in the next draft as well :)

Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time for us so far!

We'll probably stick with the original U or a similar shape, maybe a door to the utility room will be added after all, so that there would basically be a backup kitchen there and the way to the supplies wouldn't be so far anymore. We'll draw something up there :)

On the ground floor, we planned with existing furniture to determine the dimensions used in the floor plan shown here. The furniture in the floor plan does not correspond 100% to reality, as it was not taken exactly by the architect. The HAR will come with the next planning in detail as well – maybe some savings can still be made there. We are currently working on the kitchen in detail to be able to adjust the wall dimensions if necessary.

We are less bound in the children's room and the utility room because the space will be doubled compared to our existing furniture. In fact, the bathroom is not yet final. We encountered major problems with the knee wall in the bathroom planning tool and would therefore finish that topic before going into further detail there. The bedroom will get a Pax on the wall to the children's room in maximum width/height – besides that, the bed (hopefully closer to the north wall with more knee wall than previously possible) and perhaps two bedside tables will be added – currently we only have two small dressers included, which we can also accommodate elsewhere. The closet space will approximately be doubled compared to now.

We are currently working on the option of adding another access from the kitchen to the utility room… That point is really good.

Getting from the kitchen in the southeast to the terrace in the southwest would only be possible if we instead get rid of the dining area and make a pure south-facing terrace. Or do you have another idea?

The idea of the window seat is interesting, but I had to google it. I have never seen it anywhere before. Does anyone actually use that in everyday life?

A sliding lift door was not on our list so far – normal patio doors would certainly do :)

That’s how we originally planned the southwest terrace as well :)

Thank you very much for the illustrative explanations – I had to smile a lot!

If we know how the knee wall on the upper floor can look, we would like to finalize the bathroom – before that, it would be a wasted effort, I think.

We are working on the kitchen. From my own experience, storage space next to the fridge, between the stove and the sink, and sufficiently usable space for chopping work along with an adequate number of available sockets are very important to me. In our current kitchen, it’s already quite good – but with every new plan, you try to eliminate as many errors as possible until you are finally satisfied. Hopefully, this will already be the case with this kitchen (once it’s finished) ;)

No idea, in our town hall you can still count the people on one hand. If in doubt, just call reception/secretariat and ask to be connected to the appropriate department.
