N.e.v.e.r !!! - there is nothing more pointless than clinging to the helm in some parts during a significant course change. That then becomes a burden for the next draft. Therefore, never reshuffle only part of the cards!

@WilderSueden The "additional cost" for KfW40 (although I don't know what the reference value is) is around 10,000 euros. Although they would even be NH certified.

I would be cautious with such numbers for the prefabricated house, as well as with the NH certification. It is quite likely that various costs for on-site services will be added on. The corresponding material would probably also have to be certified, and that sounds like a Passierschein A38 to me.

Just read today that there should be funding of up to 100,000 euros for KfW40 even without NH? Does anyone have more details? I haven't found anything yet... It would have to be calculated in doubt.

I have also seen an article about that. Although it was full of "up to" and other inaccuracies. I think we would have to wait until it is precisely stated on the KfW website.

Answer: yes. They offer several stages of completion. Classic is: shell house (only the walls, windows, doors, and roof are in place), shell construction (roof covered, insulated, drainage, ...), then the technical package electrical/plumbing/heating, then floor coverings, painting work, doors, and stairs.

to Stommel: we have built with them twice, most recently in 2021. They are definitely not a bargain, but the quality is right.

I read something at the very beginning about the wall construction log beam - insulation - log beam. Do you really want to build it like that? What does the cladding above the windows/doors look like? What does your insurer say about it? How are the interior walls? How are the house corners executed? What does the roof rest on? That raises question after question for me. ... would you like to discuss? I’d be happy to, ask , who by now gladly takes walks in Posemuckel and lets himself be convinced by Stommel.

Why Stommel?

Because I consider Stommel here to be a more suitable (experienced in production-line houses) provider than the one who hides his inexperience behind that by excusing himself with customer-specific planning. If, on the other hand, you want a log house "Canadian handmade," I would consider Charlie Manz. If you can imagine building solid wood also without a demonstrative wood surface, my recommendations would be Staudenschreiner or Wirlebenhaus (see or ).
