I would either do it like says, namely the simple solution with a normal door. For us, for example, the door to the pantry is usually open..... But since it will now be the utility room in our house, there will be a normal door. Of course, you can implement fancy things there, but in the end, for me it also boils down to the cost/benefit ratio, which you have to decide for yourself or where money might be missing elsewhere.
Basically, in your situation, I would also tend to go for the larger kitchen without a pantry. You would have a lot of space and if you extend normal tall kitchen cabinets without expensive interiors or buy them if necessary from the blue-yellow provider or similar, it will probably not be much more expensive in the end than this pantry solution with an extra door, walls, plaster, electrical etc. additional costs for the room.
I wouldn’t take the typical basement chest freezer anyway, but rather a 120cm (2x60cm) wide side-by-side solution, for example from Bosch, Siemens, etc., or the more expensive Liebherr solution or set up these stainless steel appliances individually; that can be designed nicely and you have everything directly in the kitchen.
