Look around for plots of land
Consider how big the house should be
Get quotes
Talk to the bank

I want to do that anyway. The question was whether you can already buy a plot of land now to build on in two to three years. I'm just worried that the plots will get even more expensive and saving money will be practically pointless. And I could also manage the land purchase without the bank. But I'll first see what I can find.

And what comes now, please read with a sense of humor!

How big should the house be? Well, you are allowed to dream. So gladly 250 sqm with a glass front and an open space. Please no basement, I hate basements! Everything clean and chic and of course with a dressing room. Like the house of the Bub architects from [Schöner Wohnen] ;-). And because of the size and my single status, please with a cleaning lady, window cleaner, and gardener.

Now to reality. I have no idea how much house I can actually afford in the end. I know the price formula per sqm. I think I can only get more concrete ideas through an architect or builder. I think I can also get good information for doing it myself from my brother. He also knows more current prices since he is currently in the process himself. The size and equipment will ultimately depend on my financial possibilities. If that is enough for me, I might build. If it’s not worth my money, I’ll have to think of something else.

Buy a piece of land first. One thing at a time. Land is never a bad investment. Land on this earth is finite, and thus, with an increasing number of people, it will become scarcer and more valuable.

If you find something you like, buy it

You just have to be careful, some have requirements for when construction must be completed.

Everyone probably has dreams. Then reality comes.

Visit a [Musterhauspark] and take a look around

Based on everything I have read here so far, I would say: it depends on the presentation (including sqm, equipment) and the equity. Nothing concrete has been written about either yet. Please disregard personal contributions. If they are possible, they are your buffer or an early repayment. Otherwise, your job is a plus and building a house is not impossible per se. Don’t let it get you down, not even at old 35 ;-)
