Yes, mostly the social connections. Naunhof, Waldsteinberg, Brandis. It already feels like home since we are often there/have been there. Everything else would be a "new beginning" and does not feel right. It's simply a gut feeling.

I understand that well. It's the same for me here. :-) I will keep my eyes and ears open in case I hear or see something in the region. My husband and I go on many excursions since we, as newcomers, are exploring the area extensively. Maybe we will come across something that happens to suit you.

Then it should be a piece of cake for you to track down owners of properties (or those who know who might have such for sale) and convince them :-)

What just came to my mind when I looked for plots in Naunhof plus 5km at an internet provider. Sometimes house sellers/house building companies simply "attach" themselves to the tenders of the municipalities on their municipal websites. Some/many municipalities do not publish on internet platforms but only on their websites and in their official bulletins/municipal newsletters. That means if you see on an internet platform that a house building company has listed one or more plots (the location is usually always indicated), you can check on the website of the respective municipality whether it is a municipal plot or a new development area of the municipality. Just additionally, to save a little work. Small restriction: Since some municipalities sell their plots/development areas directly to house building companies, there are also cases (I don’t know how often) where you are tied to a specific developer. It just caught my attention because in Naunhof two house sellers offer several plots.

I am not sure if "sell" is the right word here, even if it probably factually creates developer bindings on the plots. My impression is rather that there are deals to prefinance the preparation of development plans in exchange for reservation quotas (I do not know how this is reconciled with municipal law).

Here and in my hometown, developers, construction companies, real estate agents, and investors do not get any new building plots at all. And that is a good thing. The aim is to enable local families with average incomes to settle. According to the local residents model or point system.
