Finding the right building plot - Leipzig outskirts

Both OS and HB are now not necessarily ultimate hotspots. (Sorry to all residents there.)

That may seem so to people from outside..

It's like everywhere, relatively it has become insanely expensive by now!

An acquaintance just paid 230k for 545 sqm in a respectable neighborhood..

In my neighborhood, a building gap, 420 sqm, was sold for 125k. That is over 100 euros more per sqm than we paid 18 months ago.

It's just crazy at the moment!

I do not want to deny that there are also high-priced plots "bei Euch," but when I look at cities like Berlin, Cologne, Stuttgart, Munich, ... the demand and thus the price level are generally quite different. In Munich, people laughed at prices of 400 EUR/m².

It doesn’t really matter what land costs in places where you don’t want to live. Tokyo and Luanda are supposed to be expensive too. So what?

Keep at it, we have the same problem. Living in Cologne and want to build. Sometimes looking down as far as Königswinter. Sooner or later something will come. If necessary, old stock where you only pay the land value and then demolition.

Old caretaker... where exactly are the jobs in and around Leipzig that allow you to afford such square meter prices?

A lot has changed regarding jobs. There are several renowned companies here. Living directly between two lakes, sometimes with your own boat dock, etc... where else in Germany do you find that, with an opera house, university, concert hall nearby, at that price? Recently, I thought about whether Kahnsdorf will become a kind of St. Moritz for water sports enthusiasts. The quality of life here in the Leipzig region is, in my view (formerly Baden-Württemberg), incredibly high. And I looked at many places before choosing my retirement home. But I don't want to advertise. ;-) I'm more concerned that access to and beaches on the lake will gradually pass into private ownership and then be lost to the public.

It's a nice area if you like nature, but for the distance to Leipzig already extremely expensive - simply intense...

Just under 20 minutes by car to a metropolis with an airport and much more, I don't find that very far away, but of course that is very subjective.
