Certainly, no one here has anything against generous construction, but it has to fit together. You have an insanely large hallway/passage area on the ground floor that is hardly useful, but your kitchen island, which is supposed to emphasize the spaciousness, is not very big. Try drawing a kitchen island measuring 2.70m or 3.00m. Also, try drawing a dining table 2.80m long, then you will see whether it all still looks that spacious.

Before you continue planning here, you should definitely clarify the financial aspect.

The house will cost you at least €250k more, without going all out on the frills. If that’s okay, then continue. If not, then urgently hit the brakes.

So it is (regardless of whether it is practical or not) already a lot of square meters for 3 people. The open space including the reading corner is just under 100 sqm. Most 4-person families have about 40-60 sqm there. Your child has 25 sqm plus a gallery with how many sqm? Don’t get me wrong, if you can afford it and you like it... go for it! I think it’s an interesting project. I also find the exterior view interesting, but in my opinion it has some flaws in a few places. Inside it is partly very impractical. Lots of sqm but the actual “rooms” are not large. The kitchen, for example, is tiny compared to the 100 sqm. But maybe you wanted it like that. In my opinion the budget is nowhere near sufficient.

But that is not up for debate! If you want, three people can also live in 800sqm. There are people who value spaciousness highly. If it fits the budget, I would realize the floor plan with a few small changes like that. If possible, I would also give the atrium a window.

I think there is still quite a bit of money to be saved. For example, by removing the [Einliegerwohnung] (it pays off in very few cases) and reducing the overall floor plan.

What is not up for debate?
The OP asked whether it is wasteful or generous.
I responded to that.
I also did not say that it is wasteful or that he shouldn't build that many square meters.
It is very generous regarding the square meters.
Practically, on the other hand, it is not because a lot of square meters are wasted in my opinion in the wrong places; in this regard, it is wasteful. I think that is why the OP is here to discuss his floor plan, right?

Additionally, he mentioned a budget that probably won’t be enough for the house.
