Of course it makes sense to lay empty conduits for the underpass of the garage or street if you know that you will want electricity or water there later. Everything that goes into the ground in the garden can be laid frost-proof with sweat and effort by yourself. We have empty conduits behind the boulder ends because we might want to play with light there someday, and furthermore an empty conduit on the valley side of the driveway to later supply electricity for lighting there. For the water, three outdoor tap points on the house will suffice, one of which draws water from the cistern.

Thank you for trying to explain this to me. However, the answer does not satisfy me when I read it, because it is about the question asked by the TE. What he is thinking of are cables that will be laid later from the distributor (house) and not now. And if they go anywhere, they go around the house and not underneath!!! So they have little to do with the work the earthworker is doing NOW and only get in the way. They will be done later and therefore the TE should not worry about it now. At least that was the case for us: the electrician laid everything later – the utility connections, of course, by the utility company... But I will voluntarily raise my hands and say: I don’t know any better. It may be that it was simpler for us since we do not have any paving.

If I build a garage NOW and later want to have electricity and water on the other side, it is sensible and economical to quickly lay a 100 mm HT pipe under the garage NOW and prepare the connection.

Of course, many things can be done later.

I don’t have a plan for the irrigation yet, just a rough idea. It is supposed to be a Hunter system. The valve box in or on the garage. The solenoid valves are controlled via the KNX switching actuator. Water supply either through a water pipe from the utility room through a wall opening, over the garage floor to the valve box, or simply via the frost-proof outdoor faucet. From the valve box then distributed towards the backyard and front yard. I attached the floor plan. The garage is at the border, so I can’t go further north from there, hence the idea with the empty conduit from the middle of the garage towards the front yard in the north. And another one from the middle of the garage towards the garden, so I don’t have to dig up the gravel slab again? Whether I will have problems with frost in the garage, I don’t know yet...

If the dashed lines are the property boundaries, you can save on conduit pipes. Frost protection valves outside and in the garage, and that's fine.
