Question to the group: which compressor can you recommend to winterize the Hunter system? I have such an 8 bar Makita air compressor, but as I have now read, the air volume is crucial, and with 18L/min I don’t get far :-( depending on the system size, you need 2500-10000L/min, so nothing a private person usually has.

Who says that? I also have a small one. I think 18l as well. You don't have to blow everything out at once. I have one compressed air connection per valve box. I want to connect there and then open one valve after the other. And for one circle, a small compressor should probably be enough. That's my assumption so far.

Quickly googled. You’re not allowed to link in this forum anyway. Yes, then it referred to the entire system, you're right, you only need the air volume for one zone. I have to calculate that.

Don’t stress about the air volume. Sure, a large-capacity compressor works faster/better. With a small one, the sprinklers might not fully extend. Just let it run longer and that’s fine. It doesn’t have to be the last drop of water outside. In the worst case, you and/or your children stand on a sprinkler and/or therefore the circle is smaller. It’s just about preventing frost damage if it freezes.

Ok, been out of school too long to calculate that in my head, it’s only 12.5l in the zone after all
