Empty conduits on the property - ideas? - It's not too late yet :)

So I have installed KNX at my place and would definitely like an integration into KNX or even better into Apple Homekit (for example, an automation with the lawn mower would be possible here). Apparently, there is a Homebridge plugin for the Hunter Wifi, but no idea how well that works. Opensprinkler also does not have a native Homekit integration, so it can only be integrated via Homebridge. IFTTT seems to be integrated with Opensprinkler, so quite a bit is possible with that.

We ultimately decided on Hydrawise after all. It works wonderfully. I do not consider integration into KNX necessary. Irrigation runs between 4 and 6 am, mower robot only from 8 am.

What speaks specifically for OpenSprinkler? I currently like the Hunter system somehow better (app is smoother and translated, everything from one source, rain sensor attached and done. Price-wise it’s no difference.

What were the reasons? I am also leaning towards Hydrawise (app looks better/more professional, everything from one source and no tinkering like with OS (feeling-wise), price is the same) and I wouldn’t know why one should intervene in the irrigation except to quickly turn it on or off via app.

One more thing, do you actually need a sieve filter again in the valve box even if you're using tap water? The MP Rotators also each have small filters. That also reduces water pressure.

No, it is not necessary. Just run it briefly at startup without sprinkler heads. The dirt that might be inside from the installation will then be gone. After that, install the sprinkler heads...
