Hi, we had our electrical meeting on Friday, meaning where everything should go.

Attached is a plan of how we planned it with the electrician. Almost everything is according to our wishes; there were hardly any suggestions for improvement.

The sockets are marked in orange in the pictures.

For internet/phone, we only have 2 lines; he wanted €108 per outlet more, we are doing that ourselves now, so there will be an internet connection in every room.

Living room, 4-2-4 sockets plus TV, and 2 and another 2 outlets.

Hallway, 1 socket at the front and back, plus a phone connection.

Utility room, besides the appliances themselves, also washing machine and dryer, 2 single outlets.

Guest WC, 1 outlet.

Study, 3 sockets plus phone and TV and 2 times 1 socket.

Upstairs then:
Children's rooms, 3 sockets plus TV and 2 times 2 sockets.

Dressing room, 2 single sockets in the middle at the top (for Ikea Pax light)
In addition, the light switch for the bedroom is also in the dressing room... is this okay? (Red dot-arrow)

Bedroom, 3 sockets plus TV, and next to the bed 3 sockets each (here better lower or a bit higher so that it is above the nightstand? Because you plug in baby monitors, phones, etc. daily.)

Storage room, 2 single sockets.

Bathroom, 2 sockets on the left side of the washbasin wall.
Additionally, a ceiling light in front of the shower.
Are there any suggestions for improvement here? Leave one outlet there and add a spotlight shining into the shower, or use that one outlet to install LED spots in the ceiling?

Hallway, at the back another socket.

So, now follow the pictures, which hopefully are clearly visible.

I would appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Leave out the telephone sockets, nobody needs those... simply install 2x RJ-45 CAT7 in every room and 4x RJ-45 behind the TV and in the office with the end in the [HAR], there you can connect everything as you like and also run the phones through it. I am still missing power outlets in the kitchen and dining room... you can’t see the upstairs picture. Possibly plan speaker sockets in the living room and SAT connections everywhere. Don’t forget the stair lighting...

Hi, thanks first of all. So, I'm not really very skilled in network technology. Why completely leave out the phone? We need to be reachable by phone after all. Your mentioned RJ45 looks like a normal network cable, should I just lay it loose in a room? So not coming from the wall through a socket? And why 2 pieces in every room and 4 behind the TV, or 4 pieces in the office? The PC only needs one connection. According to the kitchen plan, there are sockets in the kitchen, here there are 6 pieces available for free use. In the dining room we have (k)one, so the 2 on the wall directly facing the living room. It is a combined dining-living room. Speaker sockets? So I will lay the speaker cables myself. We have Sat in the living room, office, both children's rooms and the bedroom. There is also stair lighting, so the light hangs from the ceiling upstairs and can also shine downwards. And then we have 1 switch downstairs and 2 upstairs for this light. PS: The picture for the upstairs works for me.

Please read my post... it says that you can also perfectly use the CAT7 cables that you then lay for the phones. And each one of them.

Of course not loose but each with a double socket or two sockets by the TVs and in the study.

Yes, but you won’t have a network printer, or network hard drive or or or??? And if the cables are not laid beforehand, retrofitting is rather impossible.

I thought your questions don’t only concern what the electrician does but generally what is missing. Because you also wrote that the network is laid by yourselves.

I meant the step lighting and not the usual ceiling light...

What mycraft is also aiming at with the speakers. In the new building, you can also wonderfully lay cables flush-mounted. Sure, you can still lay them later, but then only surface-mounted.

Of course, you have to think a bit about how you want it. I have placed them all centrally and can control them there on the server via any device.

Is there also an outdoor socket? Doorbell? It might also be sensible to have a thick underground cable to the garden and/or to the garage/the carport/the parking space. Some people also plan a three-phase socket (concrete mixer, garden tools ...).

You really don't need telephone sockets anymore if you install network cables/network sockets. You can then also run telephone through these lines. Just run the telephone from the telephone house connection to the place where all the network cables converge (please also search the forum for "network ..." this has come up a few times here about how to do it with the Fritzbox, etc.).
