We also have a custom construction. Ivar can be cut and combined wonderfully. We have a slant, it fits there too. The drawers are Malm. Works.

As an alternative to a dressing room, you can also position a wardrobe so that it forms a room divider. You gain a few crucial centimeters of space because you don't need a wall. However, you will have to cover the back of the wardrobe if you buy one in a typical price range.

Advantages:

    [*]more space
    [*]visually the room remains larger
[*]more air volume (small rooms in modern houses quickly feel "stuffy")
[*]no separate heating/ventilation control needed (unless underfloor heating)
    [*]cost efficiency

Disadvantages:

[*]wardrobe selection limited (must be able to stand free, back side)
[*]possibly a back panel must be built for the wardrobe
[*]no sound insulation, since same room
[*]no maximum light protection, as light can shine over the wardrobe into the sleeping area

I have hated IVAR with passion since my youth. I find the assembly terrible. You can basically only build it crooked, and then you have to hope that it matches the "crookedness" of your floor and walls. I even prefer a heavy-duty shelf from the hardware store. I also haven't decided yet what we will do in the bedroom. Whether we will get Pax, or something else. My wife doesn't want any cupboards at all, but dressers with drawers. So that she can put even more plants on the dressers. Meanwhile, she alone occupies 4 meters of cupboard space.

WOMAN apparently is managing it right now ;)
I didn't have it as a child, so I wasn't negatively predisposed. In the end, ours is white-stained and quite stable (and straight)

No no no, my mother was in charge of the youth trauma and with the current Ivar I told my wife before buying it that she can assemble it on her own. I didn’t use a spirit level but at the top end the two side posts are definitely at different distances from the wall. It’s stable, but not really straight. So congratulations : Either you are particularly gifted, lucky, or the white glaze has something to do with it.

Maybe your wall is just crooked?! I honestly didn’t check how far it sticks out from the wall. It stands at a right angle and visually straight forward. That’s enough for our laundry ;)
