Don't you have any cats? Without doors, it would be a disaster

A completely different question regarding dressing. What size do you have there?

Best regards

We have about 2.40m in width. With a normally deep cabinet on one side and a shallower shelf on the other side, there should be pleasantly plenty of space in the middle.

Theoretically, we have 3.80m of space on each wall, but especially with the shelf, we probably won’t use it all to avoid making it feel too oppressive.

Whether it will work out in practice as we hope remains to be seen.

More important than how large the dressing room is, is to define how many meters of wardrobe or shelving I need, and from that the dressing room is determined. And, I have already seen floor plan examples here, where the dressing room was 8 sqm or more and you could barely place 350 cm of wardrobe usefully. For me, I also define it more as a walk-in closet rather than a dressing room. Dressing room in the sense that I also dress there requires more space between rows of wardrobes than a walk-in closet, from which I only want to take clothes or put them back.

I planned the wardrobes themselves exactly with the Pax planner... so storage planning. And I ended up with 300 cm of open wardrobe and 60 cm of open shelving for one person. But everything is accommodated there, including summer or winter jackets, trousers, etc. And as I said, I never wanted folded T-shirts again, so everything except sweaters is hung up for me.

If you want to discuss the size of dressing rooms, it should first be clear what a dressing room actually is. In my opinion, this term is regularly used vaguely here. This is particularly noticeable in floor plans, where there are no classic wardrobes in the bedroom in front/left/right next to the bed, but the wardrobes stand separately behind a partition wall in 1-2 rows. I think this is neither a dressing room nor a walk-in closet. A dressing room is defined in my opinion by spatial separation and the actual possibility of dressing in it. A shelf, seating, valet stand, etc. would have to fit in it. Two rows of wardrobes facing each other with a 1m aisle between do not fall under this. I would most likely call that a walk-in closet. Especially if this area is also separated here, for example by sliding doors, and the clothing is stored openly inside. We have implemented the latter and, by the way, have no problem with dust. No restaurateur would think of calling a room with 6 refrigerators a cold storage room.
