Again, a reminder to provide at least a second slot for an oven or other built-in appliances for a kitchen of this size.

Please don’t misunderstand now. I am really asking because it’s not quite clear to me yet – not because I want to keep dwelling on the topic: You are positioning the kitchen around the corner on purpose so that it can’t be seen from the living room, right? Are there any other reasons? So would a house rotation with an arrangement as an I shape with appropriate walls also be an option? There is no direct door to the living room so that it’s more relaxing? The compromise forces you to enter the living area through the kitchen, correct?

@Katja: No. We have just now started working on our kitchen planning and found that the L with an island is cheaper than the U. The main argument is the shared workspace for the large family and the access to the sink/trash from the dining room / south terrace. You don’t have to walk around the U every time.

I wasn't concerned about the kitchen, but rather the arrangement of the rooms. Can you refer to the above post again and respond to that?

So, I already wrote that we have a similar / identical layout in the kitchen area and consciously created an open-plan room. It never occurred to us to design the kitchen in a U-shape. Something like those arches would also be a horror for us. 70s/80s elements from cheap prefabricated apartments or established single-family homes with brown bathroom fixtures come to mind. But well. If you like it. Go for it.

That is currently our plan or idea for the kitchen and it will be implemented about 95% as such.

You mean why is the living-dining-cooking area arranged in an L shape, or why not swap the kitchen with the living room? Gut feeling! We sat in many, many show homes and felt most comfortable in the L-shaped room. Besides, we liked it best when the living room is somewhat separated from the cooking-dining area and offers a view outside instead of facing the room/wall.
